Cucumber Cooler Martinis
My in-laws bought a lake house in Wisconsin last Fall, so it’s a great place for us to go to get away from it all. Being by the water is so relaxing. During our recent move, we built in time to visit family during the transition and we spent Fourth of July up at the lake.
I picked up the ingredients to re-create one of my favorite cocktails from a local sushi joint near our last home. Have you ever tried Cucumber vodka? It’s so refreshing and delicious!
This is a shot of us with my in-laws and sister-and-law near the lake. I actually set up my tripod and used my timer to take it. Not too bad considering I had to run back and forth more than a few times to get all the kids looking.
It was so great to just hang by the lake, even though I still had to keep up with work to meet my book deadlines. I worked while the kiddos played…
And we even took a break to go to nearby Lake Geneva and take a boat tour to learn about all the homes and history of the Lake and town. It’s so cute up there!
Working by the lake was so enjoyable! Plus, it was totally acceptable to have a cocktail midday since it was a working vacation. Right?
Is your mouth watering yet?
Here’s how to make them!
Cucumber Cooler Martinis

- 1 part Cucumber Vodka
- 3 parts sparkling water
- Juice of 1/2 a lime
- Mint leaf, for garnish
Pour cucumber vodka, sparkling water, and lime juice over ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into chilled martinis glasses. Garnish with a mint leaf (which I actually couldn’t do since the store was out of mint!).
